Douglas George Allan was a Scottish wildlife cameraman and photographer best known for his work in polar regions and underwater. After working as a diver, scientist and photographer in Antarctica, for which he was awarded the Polar Medal in 1983, he became a full-time cinematographer and was a principal cameraman on many BBC wildlife programmes. He won multiple awards for his cinematography work, including eight Emmy Awards.
