When Did Gustave Preiss Die?

Gustave Preiss was a Swiss cinematographer and film exhibitor, known for his work in Weimar Germany. The son of the travelling-cinema showman Louis Praiss, he grew up in his father's fairground business, ran a cinema in Bohemia and a film company in Vienna, and from the mid-1910s became one of the most prolific camera operators of the German silent cinema before withdrawing from the industry after the transition to sound film.
