Serge Rezvani is a French multidisciplinary artist born in Tehran in 1928 to a Persian father and Russian Jewish mother, working across painting, engraving, novels, plays, and songwriting. Writing under the pseudonym Cyrus Bassiak, he composed the iconic song Le Tourbillon, sung by Jeanne Moreau in Jules and Jim (1962), as well as songs for Jean-Luc Godard's Pierrot le fou. His screen credits connect him to 1,642 performers, 700 of whom are still alive today.
