Takahiko Iimura was a post-war Japanese avant-garde filmmaker and fine art artist. He is considered one of the pioneers of experimental and independent filmmaking in Japan. He focused on the sexuality of human bodies, film construction in Japanese culture. Iimura was born in Tokyo and was a graduate of Keio University.
